1. About ProHive

ProHive Ltd ("ProHive", "we", "us") operates an online introduction platform that connects homeowners ("clients") with self-employed tradespeople and trade businesses ("tradespeople") in the United Kingdom.

ProHive is an introduction service only. We are not a party to any contract for work entered into between a client and a tradesperson, and we do not employ, supervise, or guarantee any tradesperson listed on the platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and resident in the United Kingdom to use ProHive. By creating an account or submitting an enquiry you confirm that the information you provide is true and that you have the legal right to enter into a contract.

3. Trade Standards

Every tradesperson listed on ProHive must, at all times:

  • Hold valid Public Liability Insurance of at least £1,000,000;
  • Hold all qualifications, certifications and registrations required by law for the services they advertise (including Gas Safe, NICEIC, OFTEC or equivalent where applicable);
  • Operate lawfully in the United Kingdom and pay all taxes that apply to them;
  • Provide accurate and truthful information in their profile;
  • Respond to homeowner enquiries professionally and honour quotes provided through the platform;
  • Complete work to a professional standard and in line with all relevant Building Regulations and British Standards.

4. Verification

By submitting your listing you authorise ProHive to verify your business details, insurance certificate, and identity documents. Verification is intended to reduce risk for homeowners but does not constitute an endorsement, guarantee, or recommendation of any tradesperson.

We may request updated documents at any time and may suspend a listing whose documents have expired or cannot be verified.

5. Contracts for work

Any contract for the supply of services or materials is entered into directly between the client and the tradesperson. ProHive is not a party to that contract and accepts no liability for its performance, including (without limitation) the quality of workmanship, materials used, timeliness, pricing, or completion.

We strongly recommend that clients obtain a written quotation and a written contract before any work begins, and that they ask to see a current insurance certificate.

6. Subscriptions and fees

Tradesperson listings are subject to a monthly subscription based on the chosen plan. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and removes the listing from search results.

ProHive does not charge homeowners for finding or contacting a tradesperson.

7. Reviews

Reviews on ProHive may only be left by clients who have a verified enquiry on record with the tradesperson they are reviewing. Reviews must be honest, accurate and free from offensive content. ProHive may remove any review that breaches these terms.

8. Conduct

You agree not to use ProHive to send unsolicited marketing, harass other users, post unlawful or misleading content, or attempt to circumvent the platform (for example, by collecting contact details to use for purposes other than responding to an enquiry).

9. Reporting and removal

Any user may report a listing using the "Report this listing" link on a tradesperson profile. We investigate every report and may, at our discretion, suspend or remove any listing that breaches these Trade Standards or that receives serious verified complaints.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ProHive accepts no liability for any loss or damage (including loss of profit, defective work, personal injury, or property damage) arising out of any contract or interaction between a client and a tradesperson introduced through the platform.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.

11. Privacy

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using ProHive you confirm that you have read and understood it.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version is always available at this page and applies from the date shown at the top.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
