Our verification process

How we vet tradespeople

Hiring someone to work on your home is a big decision. Every tradesperson listed on ProHive goes through these checks before they can take on enquiries.

Public Liability Insurance

We verify each tradesperson holds a current Public Liability Insurance certificate of at least £1,000,000 before their listing goes live.

Business registration

For Limited Companies we cross-check the Companies House number. Sole traders confirm their trading details under our Trade Standards.

Photo ID verification

Every tradesperson submits photo ID (passport or driving licence). This is reviewed by ProHive staff and is never shared publicly.

Verified reviews only

Reviews on ProHive can only be left by clients who have a real enquiry on file with that tradesperson — fake reviews are not possible.

Reportable listings

Any homeowner can report a listing. Our team investigates every report and can suspend a listing while we look into it.

Trade Standards agreement

Before going live, tradespeople agree to our Trade Standards, including holding the qualifications required by law for the work they advertise.

A note on liability

ProHive is an introduction service. We work hard to verify every tradesperson, but the contract for the work itself is always directly between you and the tradesperson. We always recommend asking to see a current insurance certificate before work begins and using a written contract. Read our full Terms and Conditions.
